The Walk-in Wardrobe Calculator estimates the cost of a dedicated dressing room — the most aspirational bedroom upgrade in Indian master suites and villas. The 2026India range is ₹2.5–9 lakh for a 50–90 sqft walk-in with hanging rails, drawers, shoe racks, accessory pulls and an island.
Unlike a sliding or hinged wardrobe, walk-ins are priced per running foot of internal framework (hanging rails, drawer banks, shoe racks) plus the centre island if you have one. How the calculation works
Walk-in cost = perimeter Rft × ₹/Rft + island. For a 60 sqft walk-in with 24 Rft perimeter storage at ₹2,200/Rft laminate = ₹52.8k; add island ₹45k, lighting ₹18k, full-length mirror ₹12k, accessories ₹35k. Total: ₹1.65 lakh laminate base. PU build pushes the same to ₹3.5 lakh+.
Why this estimate is more accurate
Most walk-in quotes are presented as a single number for the whole room. Splitting it into rail Rft × ₹/Rft, drawer count × ₹/drawer, and island as a separate line keeps you in control and makes apples-to-apples vendor comparison possible.
