About this calculator
The 2 BHK Interior Cost Calculator answers the single most-Googled question in Indian interior design: "how much will my 2 BHK interior cost?" The honest 2026 answer is ₹4.5–11 lakh for a turnkey build, but the spread depends on your city, carpet area, finish tier and which modules you include. This tool lets you dial those parameters in and see the cost move in real time — then download a clean PDF with the room-wise breakup.
A typical 2 BHK in India is 850–1200 sq ft of carpet area. The interior scope usually includes a modular kitchen (8–12 Rft), two wardrobes, false ceiling in living + master bedroom, painting, electrical upgrades and partial flooring or accent work. Add a TV unit, study, study, study unit and curtain rods, and you're at the typical line items most homeowners actually pay for.

How the calculation works
For a 2 BHK, the calculator starts from ₹5.5–9.5 lakh — the realistic 2026 premium-tier base for roughly 1000 sq ft carpet area in Bengaluru. From there it scales linearly with your carpet area, multiplies by your tier (~0.8× budget, 1× premium, 1.9× luxury), and applies your city's index.
Toggling off the kitchen subtracts ~25% of the total. Skipping false ceiling subtracts ~8%. Skipping paint subtracts ~6%. Each extra or missing wardrobe shifts the total by ~5%.
Why this estimate is more accurate
Every 2 BHK interior project is the same combination of decisions: which 4–5 things to do, what finish to pick, which city you're in, how much carpet area is involved. We model exactly those four levers so you can stop dealing in vague crore-numbers and start having concrete conversations.
If a brand quotes ₹14 lakh for your 1000 sq ft 2 BHK in laminate finish, you'll be able to look them in the eye and ask which line items account for the ₹5 lakh premium over our range.
Material comparison
For a 2 BHK in 2026, the finish tier is the dominant cost driver. Same modules, very different bills:
| Tier | Kitchen finish | Wardrobe finish | Typical 2 BHK total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Budget | Laminate, MDF carcass | Laminate, MDF | ₹4.5–7 lakh |
| Premium | Laminate / acrylic, BWP ply | Acrylic / membrane, BWP ply | ₹6.5–10.5 lakh |
| Luxury | PU / lacquered glass, BWP ply | PU / veneer, BWP ply | ₹12–18 lakh |
What affects the final cost
- Kitchen shutter material — laminate vs PU swings the kitchen line by 2.5×.
- Wardrobe configuration — sliding doors cost 15–25% more than hinged for similar storage.
- Civil work — knock-down walls or shifting plumbing easily adds ₹50k–1.5 lakh.
- Electrical upgrade — new switches, smart-home conduit, extra points add ₹35–75k.
- Painting brand — Asian / Berger / Dulux premium emulsion costs more than economy.
- Project management fee — branded turnkey firms charge 10–15% on top.
