About this calculator
The Dining Table Size Calculator helps you pick the right dining table for your Indian dining room — 4-seater, 6-seater, 8-seater or extendable — based on room dimensions and the 36-inch chair pull-out rule. It also estimates the 2026 India price range: ₹15,000–2,50,000 depending on size, material and finish.
Most Indian dining rooms are 9–14 ft on the long side. A 6-seater table needs 10 × 8 ft of clear floor; an 8-seater needs 11 × 9 ft minimum. Picking too big a table makes the room un-walkable; too small makes the dining area feel underwhelming. This calculator prevents both mistakes.

How the calculation works
Each diner needs 24 × 14 inches of table space and 36 inches of chair pull-out behind. For a 4-seater (3.5 × 3 ft table), room needs 9 × 8 ft. 6-seater (5 × 3 ft): 11 × 8 ft. 8-seater (6.5 × 3.5 ft): 13 × 9 ft. Extendable 6+2 with a leaf: 12 × 8 ft minimum (open).
Why this estimate is more accurate
Dining table shops push the biggest table that the customer might fit. Customers commonly end up with 8-seaters in 10 × 9 ft rooms where chairs can't slide out without hitting the wall. Knowing fit-rules before you shop saves the ₹40k–1.5 lakh return-or-keep dilemma.

| 10-seater | 8 × 3.5 ft | 14 × 9 ft | ₹55k–2 lakh |
