How the calculation works
Lumens needed = area × lux requirement. Living room 200 sqft × 200 lux = 40,000 lumens → 4 ceiling LED panels + 6 cove LEDs + 2 floor lamps. Cost: panels 4 × ₹2,500 + cove ₹8k + lamps ₹12k + install ₹4k = ₹34k. Whole home 1000 sqft mid-tier layered: ₹70k–1.4 lakh.
Why this estimate is more accurate
Electricians default to "Wipro tube + ceiling LEDs" — uniform, flat, ugly. Knowing room-wise lumen requirements and the cost difference between layered and single-source lighting (₹15– 40k extra for the whole home) lets you spec proper lighting upfront.
