About this calculator
The Sofa Size Calculator tells you what sofa configuration fits your living room — 2-seater, 3-seater, L-shape sectional or U-shape — based on room dimensions and clearance rules. It also estimates the 2026 India sofa price range: ₹25,000–2,50,000 depending on size, frame, foam grade and upholstery.
Most Indian living rooms are 12–18 ft on the long side. A 3-seater sofa needs 7 ft of wall; an L-shape needs 8 × 6 ft of floor; a U-shape needs 12 × 9 ft. Picking the wrong size makes the rest of the room unworkable — this calculator stops that mistake before you buy.

How the calculation works
We apply standard clearances: 18 inches between sofa and coffee table, 7–10 ft viewing distance to TV, 36-inch walkway behind sofa. For a 14 × 11 ft living room we recommend a 3-seater + 1 chair (8 ft sofa wall, 5 ft TV wall, 3 ft walkway). For 16 × 12 ft, an L-shape (8 + 6 ft) fits naturally.
Why this estimate is more accurate
Indian sofa shops push the biggest sectional they can sell. We've all seen the L-shape that traps the TV unit or blocks the balcony door. Calculating fit before you buy avoids the ₹80k–1.5 lakh return-and-restock pain.
